Welcome to the History of Arequipa Website! It has been created by Lindsay Chan, Senior Girl Scout, for her 2006 Gold Award Project. It was created to bring about awareness of the history of Arequipa. Arequipa was a sanitarium built adjoining the Hill Farm on 154 acres of land in Fairfax, California. Please enjoy browsing through the various links. I have included an in-depth look at the entire history of Arequipa, from when the land was a part of Pedro Sais? Land Grant from the Mexican government to the present day. There are a variety of pictures of Arequipa, the site for the sanitarium and Hill Farm, the convalescent home. In addition, there are pictures of the Girl Scouts when they started using Arequipa and Henry E. Bothin Youth Center. I hope you enjoy it!
